TCM Academic Exchange on Influenza

On March 5st,2008, the sino-western joint academic exchange on Influenza was held in TCM Center.

Our TCM Center invited More than 10 medical experts and researchers who came from England participated in the meeting.

Influenza brought many trouble for the people.It should be payed much attention.

Influenza is an acute, usually self-limited febrile illness that occurs in outbreaks of varying severity almost every win-ter. The causative virus is transmitted by the respiratory mute; however, systemic symptoms are out of proportion to those in the respiratory tract. Infection with influenza virus can produce several other clinical syndromes common with in-fection with respiratory viruses, such as common colds, pharyngitis, croup, tracheobronchitis, bronchiolitis, or pneu-monia. Conversely, infections with other respiratory viruses, such as respiratory syncytial virus, rhinovirus, or adenovirus, may produce sporadic cases indistinguishable from those of typ-ical influenza. In addition to enormous morbidity and loss of time from school and work, influenza epidemics are associated with substantial mortality caused in large part by pulmonary complications.

The academic exchange showed how the traditional chinese medicine treat the influenza successful.

The symposium lasted for 5 days.Three days for the symposium and two days for Guilin tour.

The arrangement of the symposium as folllows:

DAY 1:Morning: Study TCM therapy, such as Yin and Yang, four diagnosis,natural therapy and so on.

Afternoon: Enjoy foot massage and experience acupuncture and Qigong, view the Taichi show.

DAY 2: Dr Chen who was one of the famous chinese medicine expert in Guilin Sino-western Medicine Joint Hospital made a lecture on the influenza based on traditional chinese medicine.

DAY 3: discuss the Differentiation and Treatiment of Common Syndromes in Traditional Chinese Medicne.

After the symposium,the experts went to signseeing around Guilin.

The first day,they travelled the Li River by boat.

The second day,went to Yangshuo and appreciated the beautiful attraction in Yangsuo.At night,appreciated the Impression Sister Liu.This is a big performance with natural stage on water that you might have never seen or experienced before.

The medical experts was very satisfactory with the arrangement that we arranged for them.Besides,they not only mastered the skillful methods for treating the diseases,but also could learned other methods for health care and appreciated the wonderful scenery in Guilin.The symposium was very successful.
